Details
This is a full powered load and it offers longer range than a traditional 00 buck due to that the lead ball remains on target plus you get the added benefit of a higher chance of still hitting a target at longer ranges if you're slightly off with the margin of error that the 6 smaller pellets provide.

I've fired this ammo out of my Winchester 1300 and my Mossberg 500 and found that it patterns great out of both and kicks like a mule. It would be devistating on a live target at close range! (Posted on 3/10/13)Quality Performance Value - Good stuff Review by buffer84

I bought this for my new shotgun to try out and this stuff is really cool. Shot a car door at 15feet and it left a big hole w/circle because of the 6 following shots. This will put down anyone you hit. I like buying from Lucky and this price isn't the best, but I would try this brand out for sure or consider it for your home defense. I keep 3 shells of this on my side saddle. (Posted on 6/10/12)Quality Performance Value - Pure devastation Review by Ron

These are the nastiest shells available for a shotgun in my opinion. I have tried them all and these have a huge kick with devastating results, so huge in fact that it almost knocked my friends 14 yr. old son over. 1 great big hole surrounded by 5 or 6 small holes will do the job in any self defense situation. I tested this ammo against a few other buckshot loads that I'm used to this past weekend in my Mossberg 500. The Multi-Defense load first off looks mean with a huge ball at the mouth of the shell which is bound to leave a large hole in the intended target. Mine happened to be a berm at 50 yds to test the pattern against Rio's Low Recoil buckshot. By the time the Rio had reached 50 yards, it had a very wide pattern with no impact dead center but basically a large ring with everything at the outside of the ring. The Multi-Defense however left a very large impact at the center where I was aiming at 50 yards evidenced by the dust plume that rose from impact with 6 smaller impacts in a ring further outside. This is pretty impressive range for a buckshot load. The only comment that I would add is that this load has a very large recoil compared to other buck shot loads I've previously fired. This is probably to be expected for a full powered load but it will definitely wake you up. (Posted on 3/12/12)Performance Value Quality
