This economical 12 gauge birdshot load from Fiocchi is a great way to fill your bag or have a fun time at the range. Each 2-3/4" shell in this box of 25 fires 1 1/5 ounces of #9 shot at about 1,330 feet per second, a relatively high velocity that generates good patterns at longer ranges.

While not suitable for self-defense, birdshot ammunition can provide many hours of shooting at a fraction of the cost of buckshot. As the name implies, it's commonly used for shooting birds of both the feathered and clay (trap/skeet) variety as well as paper targets.

Fiocchi loads most of its shotshell for the US market at the Fiocchi of America plant in Ozark, Missouri. The company itself is based in Italy and has existed since the 19th century. It is named after the Fiocchi family, which still owns the firm and manages it on a day to day basis.
