These shells use a magnum 3" length (check your shotgun for compatibility if unsure) and fire 1-5/8 ounces of #6 nickel-plated shot at 1,350 feet per second, an above-average velocity that improves patterns at medium range. Each box contains 25 shells.
Pheasant hunting is a challenging sport best accomplished with a good shotgun, a sharp-nosed dog, and some high quality shotshells. Shot loads vary from #4 to #7.5 depending on the circumstances, with this #6 shot being an excellent all-around choice.
While this #6 shot has a bit more penetration than #8 target loads, it should not be used for self-defense purposes. Check out LuckyGunner's buckshot inventory instead and save this ammo for the birds!
