For over fifty years, the 25-06 was a wildcat cartridge, unstandardized by any manufacturer. However, after years of use, Remington decided to standardize this round in 1969 and make it into the hunting round it is today. The 25-06 is based off of the 30-06 and offers long range and high muzzle velocities.
