Hornady has created a nice round for the 30/30 with the load IF you intend on shooting targets. In the field, it does what a typical plastic (ballistic) tip round does... it implodes upon itself. I rate this product low on simple hunting experience... i want an exit wound. This cartridge will not give you that on a deer over 60 lbs. If target shooting on the range, however, it is a beautiful cartridge. 1/2" group at 100 yrd with the ole Marlin.
