Federal's Trophy Copper projectiles feature bonded bullet performance with a lead-free projectile. This is achieved using a boat-tail bullet made completely of gilding metal with a deep-reaching hollow cavity, a polymer tip which tops the hollow point, and most importantly, four banded cannelures which are evenly spaced along the base of the bullet. This configuration of indentations increases rifling contact for greater accuracy across many different firearms.
Upon impact with the game target, the polymer tip is pressed into the hollow cavity which causes the copper material to be peeled back into a wide set of petals. The base of the bullet maintains its relative shape due to the four cannelures which results in deep penetration and complete energy transfer.
