Details

Manufactured at the Lake City factory, this mil-spec product is brand new, brass-cased, boxer-primed, non-corrosive, and reloadable. It is a staple range and target practice ammunition.

This is top of the line, American-made range ammo made by ATK at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (ATK is the same company that makes Speer Lawman, CCI, Blazer Brass, etc) - it doesn't get any better.

Note: This product contains steel in the projectile (this brass is magnetic) as it is made to military specifications. Additionally, this brass is manufactured on mil-spec production lines which require evidence of the annealing process be left on the brass near the neck of the casing. This is the darker residue that is visually noticeable around the case neck. Both commercial and mil-spec brass undergoes this same annealing process which make the brass stronger and less brittle. The annealing process essentially runs the brass through a series of flames which heat the brass having the affect of re-strengthening it in its final shape. Commercial brass is then re-cleaned after it has been annealed to make it cosmetically more appealing for the commercial market. Military requirements on the other hand place a larger emphasis on the structural integrity of the casing so they require that evidence that the brass has been annealed remain on the brass.

Used in LMT 308 MWS. Review by Brandon

This ammo was fantastic. It was always maintained a very tight group when zeroing my rifle. I was able to keyhole all of my rounds, and I shot 120 rounds that day. Out of the 120 rounds I shot from a brand-new rifle that's never been shot, I had one failure to feed, and that could've been taken care of if my rifle had a forward assist. I will be purchasing more of this ammo. What I liked the most about this ammo is when taking it out of the box the rounds were smooth in design, there wasn't any burs in the round itself, and it had a very sleek and precise cut to the tips of the round which makes it more accurate and stable in-flight. I could only wish that this website would sell the same Federal round in a match grade FMJ HPBT. (Posted on 9/14/14)

I got my ammo a few weeks ago and fired 40 rounds through a new rifle to zero in. No issues and solid 2 inch groups. The next week I went to a longer range and fired 20 more, without flaw with about 4 inch groups at 50 yards in an unbraced standing position. Next, shot 200 yards at a 6 by 6 steel plate and was able to hit it several times. Not bad I suppose all with stock iron sights! I would definitely buy again. (Posted on 9/3/14)
Price, Accuracy. Performance in LR Oracle Review by Victormatchless

I have ran 500 rounds of this ammo through my DPMS LR Oracle. It was used at 100, 200, 300, 500, and 650 yards as this is as far as I am able to set steel up with berms for safe shooting. The ammo preformed very well at all distances! The only down side was the few flyers , with a maximum of 25 in number. There were no misfires, and no ejection problems at any time. It's most repeatable performance was at 100, 200, and 300 yards. At 500 and 650 yards crossing winds, humidity, and problems from day heating complicating shooting at the longer yardages. These problems were not caused by the ammo; however, flyers seemed to increase at this time. But, most likely it was I who was at fault, not the ammo. Overall, I was quite satisfied with this ammo the first time around. My first case was $31.00 cheaper which is why I gave the value a 3 instead of a 5. I will buy this ammo again with confidence of satisfaction and recommend it to anyone that wishes a satisfying day punching paper or steel gongs!
