This 1,000 round case of .38 Special ammo from Fiocchi can be used for both target shooting and self-defense. Each cartridge fires a heavy 158 grain jacketed hollow point bullet at a muzzle velocity of 850 feet per second. This makes it a relatively powerful (though not quite +P) load well suited to stopping an assailant. As with all .38 Special ammo, these cartridges can be safely fired from a .357 Magnum revolver if a less expensive or lower recoil load is desired.
While jacketed hollow point bullets are most associated with the concealed carry/self-defense role, they also work well for target shooting due to their flat-nosed profile, which produces clean holes in paper. They are also safe to use in the tubular magazines of various lever action rifles and carbines.
Fiocchi is an Italian manufacturer based in Lecco, Italy. While they have been around since the 1870s, the company is relatively new to the US market and has built up a strong reputation very quickly thanks to the quality and reasonable cost of its products. One major part of the company's American expansion is a manufacturing facility in Ozark, Missouri that produces the vast majority of Fiocchi-branded ammo sold in the US.
