There is a difference
Review by TXPamIAm. (Posted on 11/6/13)
As a woman, who has shot most of my life, I had not tried SCHP until recently. Knowing my husband and I were going to the range, I picked up a box from Lucky Gunner.
I did some side by side testing to compare feel mostly, and just see what else presented itself in difference. I used brandname, new FMJ 230 gr, JHP 185 gr and the SCHP. loads.
Comparing the 230 and 185, the difference almost didn't register and both had energy transfer into your hands. But the SCHP really does recoil less and there is much less energy transferred during the shot - the later is something I didn't expect but was a very nice bonus.
As a result, I've added SCHP along side my JHP loads.

Good stuff for carry
Review by Rob T.. (Posted on 7/22/13)
I bought this because of the generally good reviews I have seen for stopping power and I wanted to try a lighter load round to see if it did help with sight recovery time. Verdict? Well I have no good tests for stopping power, the armed guy breaking in my house didn't mind being shot at, but didn't want to give me time to switch to ball ammo and compare the results. But I did notice more significant chunks being tore out of a 4x4 with this then my standard ball ammo... so a good sign I thinks!
As for the recoil, I was surprised that it made such a difference, my impression going in was that it would be negligible. But after firing a mag of 230 grain ball ammo then firing a mag of this ammo it was night and day as to how quick I was back on target. Strikes me as a positive attribute for those worried about things that go bump in the night.
