These "training only" rounds from Speer are a great tool for function testing and realistic training with your favorite .45 Auto pistols and sub-guns. This ammunition was originally offered for the current Speer Gold Dot G2 "54256" designation, but later rejected due to small differences in performance and component choice. Despite this repackaging, for the last couple of years the shooting community has reported reliable cycling and wonderful accuracy from these "954256" labeled rounds.*

Each of these cartridges is assembled using a +P pressure charge for flatter .45 ACP trajectory and enhanced terminal effect, a reloadable brass casing which has been nickel-plated for corrosion resistance and dependable feeding, and the all-new Gold Dot G2 jacketed hollow-point (JHP) projectile. The G2 retains important features from the street-proven Gold Dot design including the shallow cavity with precise skiving for controlled expansion as well as Uni-Cor bonded jacket which will prevents separation from the lead core and preserves the penetration desired in duty and defense loads.

Improvements made to the G2 design include a simple lip cannelure which aides in weight retention as well as an elastomer filling in the hollow cavity which does not extend past the cavity's mouth and interfere with proper chambering. This clear polymer filling serves to resist clogging from intermediate barriers like heavy clothing which is known to hamper expansion. Additionally, the elastomer material is driven backwards into the bullet upon impact and initiates a wider, petaled expansion in order to create more effective wound cavities within a threat.

*Please be aware that these cartridges were originally produced for a law enforcement contract but were repackaged for commercial sale with the label "NOT FOR LE DUTY USE - PRACTICE AMMUNITION ONLY."
