These unique .458 SOCOM rounds from Polycase deliver superb terminal performance on whitetail deer and big feral hogs for the responsible, health-conscious hunter. Each of these cartridges is built using conventional base components such as clean-burning powder contained within a reloadable brass casing that is fitted with a non-corrosive Boxer primer. Polycase’s Inceptor ARX line differs from normal ammunition in its projectile, which is made from a mixture of epoxy resin and powdered copper. The ARX projectile is shaped with a domed head for smooth feeding and target entry as well as three turbine-like notches.

As part of Polycase’s Preferred Hunting lineup, this particular ARX projectile weighs in at 200 grains which is light for the .458 SOCOM caliber and produces high muzzle velocity. While striking a game animal, the ARX’s spinning motion and notches transfer massive energy to vital organs in a lateral fashion. This creates a large, game-dropping wound channel without expansion and ensures that the bullet penetrates past thick hides before expending its energy. The polymer construction of the bullet facilities controlled fragmentation which reduces the dangers of ricochets and overpenetration. Since the round is lead-free, hunters can expect a cleaner bore, greater long-term accuracy, and more edible meat.

Polycase ammunition has been around since 2012 and is engineered by experts in polymer-injection molding. The products are made in Georgia and serve a wide range of uses including hunting, self-defense, and range training.
