The PMAG D-60 from Magpul is a new take on the classic drum magazine concept but with modern innovations which increase reliability and convenience. With an overall polymer construction and sturdy design, the PMAG D-60 has the same durability that made Magpul magazines famous and has an empty weight of 20.5 ounces. This drum does not require any spring winding and is compatible with any weapon system that uses STANAG compliant 5.56x45mm magazines including the AR-15, FN SCAR-L or SCAR 16S, Bushmaster ACR, IMI Tavor, HK 416, and many more.

Thanks to a height that is no taller than a standard 30 round PMAG, shooters will find that they can achieve prone and bench positions more comfortably than with other high capacity designs.Inside the magazine are linked dummy cartridges which act as a follower for live rounds and ensure proper feeding even in automatic systems like the U.S. Army's M249 SAW and USMC's M27 IAR. The unique follower design also locks the bolt of AR platform rifles to the rear after the last round for reloading familiarity that fits common TTPs used by novice and experience shooters alike.

The D-60 magazine includes a slip-on dust cover for storage and can be easily disassembled and cleaned without the use of special tools. Due to the tower design, the D-60 drum is compatible with wide range of speed loaders or stripper clips and is constructed with an integral lever on the body which relieves top round pressure for easy hand-loading. Next to the feed lips is a trap-door lever which allows shooters to quickly dump all of the rounds from the magazine for maintenance and/or administrative reasons.
