This 5.56x45mm M196 tracer ammo loaded on 10 round stripper clips is a special buy from a military contract overrun from the famed Lake City plant and is perfect for shooting with your 5.56x45mm chambered AR-15!
Tracer ammo is a great training tool for shooting in low light situations. Many serious shooters find that shooting with tracer ammo is a fun experience and a great training tool. You can actually watch the bullet's flight path through the air with your naked eye! M196 55 gr tracer ammo is actually preferred by many civilian shooters over the more commonly found M856 64 gr tracer load. The reason for this preference is that this projectile will stabilize in a broader range of barrels from 1:9 to 1:12 while the M856 projectile is properly stabilized with only a quick twisting 1:7 twist rate which is less common. If you're unsure, just check your AR-15's barrel and the twist rate will be displayed. If you see a 1:9 or 1:12, then you're good to go!
This ammo comes pre-loaded on 10 round stripper clips which make it super quick to load magazines with. Additionally, the stripper clips loaded in sleeves come in more portable bandoleers for easy toting back and forth to the range. Q: Are the Lake City tracer rounds illegal in CA? Tracers in general, Lake City really has nothing to do with the question.

A: These are currently not allowed for sale in the state of California. From my understanding, the main reason behind this is the increased risk of wild fires while shooting this ammo. The tracer element may burn for a longer period of time than intended. Depending on where the bullet lands, there is a possibility of fire if dry materials are in contact. Tracer rounds will be prohibited in indoor ranges in any state. With the correct outdoor conditions, these are a lot of fun to shoot.

Just like being on the range with the 249 Bravo. All 140 worked well. By the way boys and girls the Bandolier came with 140 rounds the post says 120. Not sure if there was an error in packing the order? if so I will pay the difference fot the x-tra 20 rounds. However, well worth the fun to watch other non-military people shoot it and then get their (geek on)... I was asked by a real nice lady, Is that a small LED light in the bullet? LOVE IT....
