Q: Does the actual bullet itself attract a magnet, not the steel case, but the projectile?

Posted On: 2/13/15 By: Charles Schenkbecher

A: Hello Charles, The Silver Bear ammunition is loaded with a Bimetal jacketed bullet. This means that the bullet does contain steel in the jacket and will attract a magnet.
Q: Does this ammo stick to a magnet, I find it convenient when the ammo listings have a comment about whether it will stick to a magnet. Many ranges will not allow any steel core rounds and it is hard to know prior to ordering

Posted On: 5/21/14 By: Pseudo

A: Hello, These 174gr. FMJ rounds by Silver Bear in 7.62x54R do have steel cases, so they will attract a magnet.

Customer Reviews

Great Ammo for the price. Review by Alexander
I got this for my Mosin 91/30 and was very happy with the performance. I had a 1"MOL
at 100 yards. I love shooting this firearm a lot of fun. Lucky Gunner has been the best company to do business with and I won't buy my ammo anywhere else. (Posted on 12/4/14)
Great Value Review by burnthill
Excellent performance in my M-38! (Posted on 11/11/14)
Great non-corrosive ammo Review by N7
Shoots as well as the Russian surplus, but this stuff is non corrosive.. No feeding or extracting issue, i use this ammo to theoretically clean the bore out after shooting surplus ammo all day, with no issues so far. Not nearly as cheap as the corrosive surplus, but it was at the time the best deal for noncorrosive. I'd buy more without hesitation. (Posted on 5/3/14)
Great Ammo! Review by Popeye
Bought this ammo for newly acquired Mosin Nagant (M91/30). Have fired 60 rounds to date with no problems of any kind. The ammo feeds well and shoots well. (Posted on 3/24/14)
