These 9mm Golden Saber rounds from Remington may be mislabeled but are no less effective for concealed carry and personal defense purposes. The box bears a misprint which marks these rounds as "124 grain" while they actually are loaded with 147-grain projectiles. The hollowpoint bullets are brass-jacketed for increased penetration through thick clothing without premature expansion. A rounded ogive grants the projectile design slick feeding while a wide cavity mouth and spiral-cut serrations make for reliable expansion during entry into the target; this ensures proper energy transfer to vital organs in order to stop a threat more quickly.
147 grains is a favorite weight of 9x19mm veterans due to its proven street record, greater terminal ballistics, and softer cycling impulse. Remington loads this ammunition using new brass casings which are treated to a coat of nickel; this near-frictionless coating enhances reliability and fights of corrosion that could be caused by moisture. A clean-igniting Boxer primer is affixed to the base of each casing and contains no mercury or caustic chemicals. Remington is one of the leading American shooting brands and is well known for timeless calibers and firearm designs worldwide.
