The Federal HST JHP round performs reliably in my FNH FNX-40 with excellent ballistics performance and a consistent spread with every round. This ammunition has performed reliably in every test using wrapped phone books, gallon water jugs, layers of plywood, to steel plates. Every round spreads consistently creating the maximum damage to anything a round enters.

Now if I can find the same HST JHP in .45ACP, 9mm, and for my .357 Magnum, I would standardize on this ammunition for all of handgun use. (Posted on 3/11/12)

Federal's HST ammo is top of the line in ammo performance. My FNP-40 functioned flawlessly with these HST's and I now carry them in my CCW firearm. I rank them equal to Winchester's Supreme Elite in performance and slightly better in value. Buy them when available as they are LE and Military contract ammo only. I have done my research on all ballistics tests
and then had a chance to try this ammo out
and by far it is the best I have used period.

HST is proving to be one of the better personal defense rounds in .40 cal. (consistent penetration and expansion thru clothing). XM40HC are brass casings and not nickel plated like P40HST1. Better pricing for this product can be found on the web but Lucky Gunner's reliable service and fast shipping are hard to beat and probably worth the extra money. (Posted on 12/29/10)
