Lucky Gunner got this to me in a couple of days! The ammo worked flawlessly.Performance Value Quality
I would not have thought that this would be such a fun gun to shoot. Lucky Gunner makes that possible with great service and prices! (Posted on 11/3/12) - good product Review by don

From a Taurus Judge at 25', all rounds were centered in fist sized groups. Can't ask for more than that. (Posted on 4/29/12)Performance Value Quality - Great Round for The Governor or Bond Arms Derringer Review by Shooting Long Time
-
Recently bought The Governor and Bond Arms .410/.45 Colt Derringer. Thought that I would use some good personal defense .45 Colt loads for home defense. However after testing the PDX1 stuff and Federal HD 000 Buckshot, the Federal buckshot is all I use. It keeps a tight pattern out to 10 yards which is the furthest distance I tested. It is like shooting someone 4 times with a single round. Point at COM or head and sure to deter anyone from continuing with their bad behavior. Anyone brave or stupid enough to absorb 4 more of the same is welcome to take whatever they can carry. :)Performance Value Quality
The PDX1 would be a good choice if they got rid of the 12 small pellets. Might be good for very close up like a car jacking situation but at 5 yards the pellets tend to spread out erratically too much and I doubt that under pressure many can hit dead center so those pellets will miss and may hit other people. Past 5 yards they will definately not stay on a human target and are a menance to society. :)
The .45 Colt and ACP out of the short barrel with little rifling shoot 2 1/2" groups for me at 7 yards so accuracy for self defense is more than adequate. However my problem is with the velocity and energy out of a short barrel and the ability of the round to expand. I was thinking of getting wadcuter ammo in .45 Colt but the buckshot performed so well for me and in the gel tests I saw that I see no need to use anything else for home defense. I do keep some moonclips of .45 ACP and one speed loader of .45 LSWC ammo at the ready just in case I need something with deeper penetration at close range. Like dealing with a wild animal for instance. As far as snakes go, snake shot out of any of my revolvers work well so no need to use this big gun for snakes. When I bought this stuff I was sceptical, I thought "410, that's like using a bb gun" but when my mom and I took it to the range and tried it not only was the recoil gentle (compared to a 12 gauge) but also it did nasty damage. S&W Governor leaves the Taurus in the dust...these Federal rounds are amazing at 25 yards...1.5 inch spread horizontally across the bulls eye (single action pull at the rest). No problems ejecting & six rounds are sure better than 5. (Posted on 1/1/12)Performance Value Quality - Smokin' Watermelons Review by Lewey in L.A.

One shot of this Triple Ought from of my Taurus Pubic Defender absolutely smoked a large watermelon at 10 yards. Ask your local produce stand for all of their bruised and damaged melons...a fun way to create compost! (Posted on 6/2/11)Value Quality Performance - outstanding Review by depds

I have tried several diffrent brands of loads in my Judge. All other loads were difficult to eject. I did not have this problem with Federal load. Pattern at combact range is three to four inches.Quality Performance Value

Upon test firing a pair of Taurus Judge's with the Federal loads, I was impressed with how tight the 4 balls grouped. No bigger than my fist. Coparable rounds from another manufacturer were very wide. For home defense, I will keep the Federals in the chambers. Received very quickly (Posted on 5/9/10)Performance Value Quality - Federal let me down big time this time Review by TexasTom

Purchased Public Defender a couple months ago and have been to shoot 3 times with federal and winchester .410 2 1/2" OOO buckshot. The both shot well with the federal having the advantage in knockdown power. Where federal let me down was 6 of the 15 shots I made with their load swelled up and would not let the cylinder turn. 2 of those 6 had the thin brass crack down the side. The winchesters did not have a single bad load. I was really looking forward to a good personal defense load but if it jams when you really need it might as well just have a big rock to throw at them. I will be looking forward to the new judge loads remington and winchester are to have on the market soon. Federal really let me down this round.
