Details
The selective fire 5.7x28mm P90 was developed by FN Herstal in the late 1980s and came into production in 1990. The 5.7x28mm round was slightly redesigned in 1993 to be better used with the FN Five-Seven handgun that was introduced that year. The semi-automatic PS90 carbine was introduced in 2005 for the civilian market to be used for sporting and personal defense purposes.
The FN PS90/P90 magazine features an unique horizontal mounted feeding system. The 5.7x28mm rounds are spring-fed into a spiral feed ramp and rotated 90 degrees to line up perfectly with the PS90/P90 chamber.
