Firearm and Ammunition Experiments

The science behind how ammunition functions and behaves – internal, external, and terminal ballistics – can be very complicated and difficult to understand. In addition, the nature of the internet makes it difficult for the average shooter to sift out facts and truth from a sea of falsehoods and misinformation.

LuckyGunner Labs conducts experiments, tests and research with an objective viewpoint and an interest in finding and reporting the truth, whatever it may be. These experiments might cover the behavior of ammunition immediately after it is fired, or after the bullet or projectile has traveled a few hundred yards, or as it impacts its target.

In addition, firearms tests are conducted, comparing and contrasting the relative strengths and weaknesses of various handguns, rifles, and shotguns. These tests and reviews are done in as objective a manner as possible.

The experiments, tests, and reviews conducted by LuckyGunner Labs are useful and relevant to all types of shooters, from novice to expert.

Eye Protection and Shooting Glasses Review

In one case, a large chunk of metal hit a Marine in the face, partially penetrating the lens of his glasses and causing him to lose vision in that eye. Without that eye protection, he most likely would have been killed.  Read More
