Details

Military Ballistics Industries (MBI) specializes in custom ammunition and ordinance products for use by the military, law enforcement agencies, and training facilities in the United States.

This remanufactured (reloaded in a factory) product is brass-cased, boxer-primed, non-corrosive, reloadable, and packaged in 100 round, sealed plasti-packs. It is both economical and precision manufactured by an established American cartridge producer.

The brass for this ammunition will have various headstamps and may be brass or nickel-plated brass.

Remanufactured ammunition has been around for decades. Some of the world’s best shooters use only remanufactured or custom manufactured ammunition to achieve a level of consistency and optimal ballistics performance that cannot be achieved with mass-manufactured ammunition. Remanufactured ammunition is produced by assembling carefully selected components to include specialty bullets, propellants, primers, and previously spent brass cartridge casings. The bullets, propellant, and primers are always newly manufactured while the brass cartridge casings are typically reprocessed to reduce costs or improve consistency.

This MBI product is manufactured using only the highest quality products available to ensure consistent ballistics and firing performance. The propellant is manufactured by Hodgdon, the bullets are manufactured at either the Lake City military manufacturing facilities or by Hornady, and the primers are manufactured by either CCI or Winchester. In addition to using only the best available components, MBI ammunition is assembled using some of the most modern electronic press equipment available. Because exceptional consistency is a major factor in creating accurate ammunition, a production facility that uses finely calibrated electronic press technology is key to ensuring that each shooter is well-pleased with the performance of their ammunition.

Each brass cartridge casing used to produce MBI ammunition is processed by first undergoing a lengthy mechanical cleansing process. Once cleaned, each casing is then re-calibrated by an electronic press to ensure that the final dimensions of each round are within micrometer tolerances. Each casing is then re-primed and re-charged using high-quality primer and propellants. Once the new bullet is seated using a precision-tuned electronic press, each round is hand-inspected to ensure perfection.

This product is not just remanufactured ammunition. It is “precision” remanufactured ammunition for the serious shooter. The fact that it costs less than most new ammunition is simply an added benefit.

Muzzle Velocity: 890 fps

Stacey Bowen ( Thu, 16 May 2013 01:57:05 +0000 ) : Where is a person supposed to get some AMMO,,,,, CALM DOWN PEOPLE! It's just for Target Practice!
Stacey Bowen ( Thu, 16 May 2013 02:23:55 +0000 ) : Thanks,,,,,but bloggers say not to use that specific ammo because my Barrel is only 3.2" long!
Storm Chaser ( Mon, 16 Jun 2014 23:13:00 +0000 ) : Stacey Bowen And a lot of bloggers may be wrong but I respect their opinion. Heavier bullets have a longer dwell time in the short barrel and thus burn the powder more completely than a fast moving light bullet. Also... there is nothing wrong with a slow moving heavier bullet. They are my preference for dangerous encounters. Just like hunting for dangerous 4 legged game, larger and or heavier bullets are much more preferred than light fast ones for stopping something big with ill intent. Especially at very short distances. Just my opinion but I use 147 in a 3.1 inch barrel. The lightest I would use is 124.

Less than 100 per bag Review by Steve

My order was supposed to be shipped in bags of 100, but there were rounds missing in 3 out of 4 bags: 96, 96, 97, 100. Granted I was only short 11 rounds out of 400, but I had to take the time to count them so I could reply. Instead of replacing the rounds, they issued me a $10 credit against my next order. This did not cover the time it took me to document their error & reply to them.
Ammo was accurate enough, but a little dirty. Cycled well in my Beretta 92FS with no issues. (Posted on 10/20/12)
Reliable and very good range ammo Review by Bob5706

I happen to go through allot of ammo as use it in a rifle and pistol. No issues running it through several hundred rounds. A little less powered for the size, but for the range and what I use it for and what I seen out of it I would have no issues using it for any shooting application for a 9mm. Good deal and as always good customer service and shipping. Highly recommend the ammo. (Posted on 8/14/12)

For a cheap range ammo it worked great for me. I shot a few hundred rounds of it this weekend at the range and no malfunctions that were due to the ammo. Only had one and it was a mag that wasnt fully seated. This works great in my G17. (Posted on 4/11/11)

good compared to most reloaded ammo out there i use it for i.d.p.a. compitions.I did have two malfuntions out of 500 rounds so far. This will not stop me from using it in the future. My g-34 seems to like it,and that is what matters.I think it was a sizing issue. (Posted on 1/3/11)
under powered and dirty Review by polonius@austin.rr.com

Good price, but running around 10% FTE and very dirty. Ran through SA XD 9mm which has never before encountered any ammo that it will not eat. I think the reloads a just underpowered for the 147 gr -- many FTEs and stovepipes (as a comparison MBI's 124 gr reloads cycle great and I have had no issues with them). The propellant is dirty (but no worse than Blazer) but the ammo is otherwise clean. Obvious divits in the bullets though and some nickle cases mixed in with the brass. (Posted on 12/11/10)
