Sterling is a subsidiary of Turac, a Turkish small arms and ammo manufacturer whose products are exported to around 60 countries throughout the world. They turn out over 200 million shotgun shells a year – this case of 12 Gauge ammo represents 200 of those.

This shell harbors a 1 and 5/32 ounce rifled slug (or 1.15 oz or 506 grains, in case that fraction makes your brain itch). A rifled slug is of course optimal for a smoothbore barrel, as its oblique grooves promote safe passage through the barrel as well as its choke. This powerful lead slug can slap a close range target with over 1,900 ft lbs of energy, though its accuracy puts 100 yard targets within reach as well. Its plastic wad features a hinged design which collapses to absorb some recoil energy during ignition.

These shells’ clear hulls aid instant visual recognition – no mistaking them for a bird or buck shot load when you’re in a hurry. Their high brass-plated steel heads support reliable cycling through a shotgun, and their powder burns clean enough to avert very rapid fouling. Packaged 10 shells to a box, 20 boxes to a case.
