This round’s most noticeable feature is its steel case. Steel cases are not as supple as the traditional brass alternative. That’s why they don’t seal off the chamber as effectively during ignition, and also why they’re worthless as handloading components. But if you don’t mind a little extra action fouling and don’t handload anyway, then this non-corrosive Berdan-primed steel-cased ammo should suit you just fine.
Typical FMJ bullets have copper jackets – but not this round’s. It has a bimetal jacket, which is 100% steel with the exception of its copper washed exterior. If you plan on firing this ammo at a commercial range, please check in ahead of time to ask if they permit magnetic bullets.
