This 270 Win cartridge by HSM is crowned with a very special bullet: the VLD Hunting, which Berger engineers to deliver match accuracy before impact, and devastating terminal performance afterward.

The VLD has a thin J4 Precision Bullet Jacket, drawn to a concentricity standard of 0.0003” in maximum variation. The VLD’s core is just as balanced, so you can rest assured the bullet’s tip will always point to where you want it to.

The VLD lives up to its “Very Low Drag” name courtesy of its ballistically efficient secant ogive profile and boat tail base. A bullet that slips through the air as naturally as the VLD is highly resistant to wind deflection and strikes its target with tremendous energy.

Unlike a dedicated match bullet, the VLD Hunting is designed to trigger massive expansion after penetrating between 2 and 3” within thin-skinned game. The bullet leaves a huge wound cavity in its wake as it rapidly distributes its energy outward.

HSM loads sterling reloadable brass cases, sensitive Boxer primers, and consistent charges of proprietary blended propellant. HSM has come a long way since they were founded in Montana in 1968, but they still pay as much attention to each and every round they roll out as a dedicated handloader!
