This is the supersonic type of 300 Black, with a 125 grain bullet that delivers a piping hot 2,145 fps muzzle velocity. At that rate a bullet with a 0.313 ballistic coefficient isn’t going to transition to subsonic muzzle velocity until about 535 yards, so you’ll be all set to shoot anything a 300 Black is capable of reaching.

This round’s bullet is a classic FMJ, an uncomplicated lead core that is fitted with a hard and aerodynamic copper jacket. It does everything except expand in soft tissue, so while you could certainly lean on this ammo for self-defense it’s not good for hunting anything bigger than varmints.
