Not to suggest that Norma’s TIPSTRIKE line of ammunition skimps in the accuracy department – this 308 Win round would let any sharpshooter put all of his skill out there for the range to witness. But it’s this round’s awesome stopping power that makes it truly special, and it owes that to its 170 grain polymer tipped bullet.

This round’s bullet features a streamlined tip, concentric jacket, and precision formed flat base that all enhance its G1 ballistic coefficient to 0.454. Its resultant flat trajectory and boosted downrange velocities will both come in very handy as you’re covering the distance between yourself and your prey.

So ballistically efficient a bullet also packs a lot of energy several hundred yards downrange – and it puts that to stellar use. When the TIPSTRIKE bullet hits its target, it doesn’t begin expanding until it has already penetrated to some depth. At that point its polymer tip jams into its core deeply enough to commence gigantic expansion, dedicating as much as all of its available energy to delivering a cavernous wound cavity.

You can’t see the TIPSTRIKE’s final performance enhancing feature, but you’ll be able to appreciate its work once your quarry has fallen. The rear part of the bullet’s jacket is embedded into its solid lead core, which helps keep the two firmly attached to one another throughout high velocity penetration. That makes the bullet able to punch deep enough into its target to reach the vital organs.
