It is crucial that you put all the power available to a smaller pistol to good use. If you carry a 380 ACP in your waistband or around your ankle, then this ammo by Norma will prove the right purchase to have made if you must ever fire it in self-defense.

Your typical self-defense bullet has a lead core with a hollow point, and a copper jacket that strengthens it for better weight retention and penetration. Norma’s 85 grain MHP (monolithic hollow point), on the other hand, is made exclusively out of copper. It retains its weight even more reliably because it has no core and jacket that could break apart from one another, and copper is extremely tough on top of that. You can expect impressively deep penetration from the MHP even with a small 380 ACP.

The way in which this bullet expands makes its terminal performance deadlier still. Instead of taking the shape of a mushroom, the MHP actually blossoms by erecting four long copper petals. As the petals extend they very quickly transfer the bullet’s energy to the target, as well as scrape a square-shaped wound cavity through soft tissue. This process is thoroughly unpleasant for its recipient, to put it very mildly.

Norma is headquartered in Sweden and has been in business since the 19th century. This ammo’s new brass cases promise to cycle freely through any semi-automatic pistol, and their primers and propellant offer consistent recoil and ballistics without needlessly fouling up the action and bore. A great choice for the all-important task of personal protection!
