Go wake up your AR-15 and tell it you love it – and that 600 rounds of 5.56x45 ammunition will soon be on their way! Winchester USA ammo is loaded in exactly the country you already guessed, and it’s the hot item for range training with any 5.56 rifle (but not 223 Rem rifles).

This cartridge’s specs are virtually identical to those of the U.S. Armed Forces’ M193 load. Its 55 grain projectile is a flat base full metal jacket: lead core, gilding metal jacket, and zero magnetic metals to be found anywhere inside of it. This is not an expanding bullet, but it will fragment if it plunges into soft tissue at high enough velocity. We don’t recommend non-expanding bullets for self-defense as a general rule, although you’ll be far from helpless if all you have is this 5.56 ammo and the rifle you need to fire it.

You wouldn’t be the first person to see this ammo’s discolored brass cases and wonder if they’re reloaded. They are not! Military grade brass is not polished after it is heat-treated for two reasons: cosmetics don’t matter on a battlefield, and more reflective cases are more likely to signal the shooter’s position to the enemy. Non-corrosive Boxer primers make this new production, non-surplus ammo reloadable.
