Winchester 5.56x45 M855 ammunition is perfect for all your everyday AR-15 target shooting and plinking needs. Importantly, this ammo’s bullets will attract a magnet – but not because they have economical bimetal jackets.

This round’s 62 grain FMJ has a green-painted tip to indicate that its core contains a penetrator tip. This seven-grain steel cone helps the M855 bullet to pierce metal plating and other barriers much more effectively, and its slightly higher weight increases its sectional density so that it can penetrate soft tissue more efficiently.

This ammo is loaded at the U.S. government’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant with non-corrosive Boxer primers, clean-burning powder and new production brass cases. The gray around the case mouths is the natural byproduct of the annealing process which strengthens brass!

Use a 1:9 or 1:8 twist barrel for the best accuracy; a 1:7 twist is also serviceable.
