Fans of the 5mm Rem Mag cartridge had to endure a pretty prolonged drought -- Remington stopped making it altogether back in 1982, with Aguila only picking up the slack in 2008. If you favor the 5mm Rem Mag for its higher velocity over that of the 22 WMR and greater energy than the 17 HMR, then you’ll be relieved to know you can finally get back to enjoying it courtesy of the Mexico-based manufacturer.

This cartridge features a 30 grain projectile, the jacket of which assures that it can pass through rodents’ mounds and their hides alike. During penetration the bullet’s hollow point will cause it to widen to significantly greater than its original diameter, giving you the knock-down power you need to spoil varmints’ evening plans.

This round has been engineered and tested according to Olympic shooting standards. Aguila’s strict quality assurance program assures that each of these 50 cartridges will perform identically to one another.

Q: Do you carry 22 mag ammo?

Q: Will the Aguila 5mm rounds fit in my Rough Rider 6.5" 22 WMR? If so, WOW! 2,200 FPS? In REVOLVER, or RIFLE?

A: Sorry sir, but 5mm Rem Mag won't work in a firearm that is chambered for 22 WMR. The cartridges have significantly different physical dimensions, and the 5mm Rem Mag's bullet is 0.2" smaller in diameter. Even if you could chamber 5mm Rem Mag in your revolver, it generates about 38 percent more pressure than the 22 WMR so it could potentially blow up your hand.

This round's muzzle velocity is recorded out of a rifle's long barrel for sure!
