Well, we're up here at the creek. We're on the bridge hanging over the creek. Down here is Cross Creek. It runs into Cross Creek National Wildlife Refuge. It runs right through our property here. Anyway, we've got some ammunition in the water. And I'm going to pull it out and explain to you why we're doing that.
OK, we've got 100 rounds of ammo sealed in a can inside this onion sack. It's spent a few hours in the cold water. And the reason we're doing this, what we're looking at today-- what we've got here in my onion sack, it's a 100-round can of Fiocchi ammunition. This is 9mm ammunition. It's sealed in this 100-round tin can because they-- and I put it down in the water to advertise it as being hermetically sealed. So it'll keep out moisture, keep out humidity that might get in there and deteriorate the ammunition over time, making it for long-term storage.
Anyway, we're going to open it up and see what's inside there. Well, we're going to open up this can of Fiocchi Canned Heat ammo. It's supposed to have a desiccant in here to absorb any moisture. It opens up kind of like a can of Spam, it's going to make it long-term storage. So they pile it up. You still need to keep it out of the excessive heat, excessive cold, you know, wide temperature's range.
But this is perfectly dry. And it's been sitting in the creek down there, water running over it, in the cold water for several hours now. And it's good-looking, brass case, full metal jacket, 9mm ammo. And it's assembled in Missouri, so it's not imported. But anyway, we're going to shoot it some, see how it runs, the velocity it runs. But the main thing I wanted to show you was the way it's sealed in this can.
I like it like this. Instead of them little boxes where you've got to pluck them out of the little rows, I like ammo packed this way. You can reach and grab a handful of it just like you can some of the bulk .22 ammunition. You know, there's no need for it all to be separated in a little box.
Also, you save money buying it this way, getting 100 rounds at a time in this nice can. And it's good USA-made ammo in the full metal jacket, 9mm, 115 grains. And it's a good way to store up a big supply of ammunition, if you don't have a bunch of ammo cans and stuff, where you empty it out and put your other boxes in there.
This is a good way to buy ammo, excellent way to keep ammo. And it is hermetically sealed where it keeps out humidity, any kind of moisture. Even if you have damp air where, maybe, some water'll leak on it, or whatever, it's not going to deteriorate your ammunition. But, anyway, this is a Fiocchi Canned Heat ammunition from luckygunner.com.
We've been shooting these Fiocchi Canned Heat 115 grains out of a variety of different 9mm pistols here, some with short barrels, some with long. Out of the full-sized guns, it's running right at 1,200 feet per second, about 1,100 feet per second out of the shorter barrels. So it's got plenty of power.
It's reliable. We had none fail to go off, even after a good soak in the creek. Like I said, it stayed dry inside the can. So you can leave it in your basement, or wherever you need to, and not worry about the ammo deteriorating like it would in, say, a cardboard box or something that's going to absorb moisture instead of be sealed against it. Anyway, it's Fiocchi Canned Heat. You can buy it from luckygunner.com.

The can is great for protecting the ammo from damage related to moisture or heat or dust. The ammo worked great. No FTEs or FTFs. A tad bit pricey for range ammo, but I would buy it again. Worked flawlessly in my Glock 19 and my wife's Glock 26. LuckyGunner is a dependable vendor and you know the item is in stock and will be delivered in a timely manner.
