Colorado Ammo Laws

Colorado proibits the sale of magazines with a capacity of more than 15 rounds. In addition to the state-wide ban, the City of Denver prohibits the sale and possession of magazines with capacities of more than 20 rounds, and the City of Boulder prohibits the sale and possession of magazines with capacities of more than 10 rounds.

Federal restrictions against armor-piercing ammunition still apply. Plus, the City of Aurora prohibits the sale or possession of ammo coated or treated with Teflon, like KTW bullets.

Restrictions On Online Ammo Sales In Colorado

Lucky Gunner is able to ship ammo to Colorado with no known restrictions in place at the moment.

Magazines, however, are a different story. Colorado state law does not permit the sale of magazines that hold more than 15-rounds of ammunition in a caliber larger than .22. The City of Boulder does not permit the sale of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. We wish we could ship these magazines to our fellow sport shooters in Colorado, but if we were to ship them, we'd risk punishment by the government that could jeopardize our ability to serve shooters in other parts of the country.
