Montana recognizes other states' concealed carry permits, as long as that state required a criminal background check prior to issuance. In this case, the possessor must have immediate possession of that permit, along with official photo ID. Even with a concealed carry permit, no weapon is allowed in government-owned or leased buildings, and bars or restaurants where alcohol is served.
