Ammo manufacturers have a lot of clever tricks up their sleeve to reduce the amount of recoil which their shotshells produce. Special powder formulations and high-tech wads aren’t uncommon, but the simplest – and most cost-effective – way to lower recoil is simply to reduce the weight of the shot column.

And that’s exactly what Fiocchi has done here! This 12 Gauge shotshell is loaded with one ounce of shot, which is 1/8 ounces lighter than what you’ll usually find. It’s loaded to an ordinary 1,150 fps muzzle velocity as well, so you can compete more comfortably and fight less muzzle flip as you fire in rapid succession.

This shell still offers great performance for target shooting. Its column is comprised of hard, round, and uniform #8 shot pellets that establish and maintain a dense pattern upon departing the muzzle. Its wad briefly follows after the shot to promote a better pattern before cleanly cleanly separating from it. And speaking of clean, you’ll be pleased with the state of your barrel after this shell’s noncorrosive primer and low residue powder have both flared away.
