This Wild Wing 12 Gauge shotshell by Browning is brand new in 2020. The shell is three inches long so it can accommodate a big 1 1/4 ounce column of steel #4 shot, a size pretty much exclusively reserved for ducks. Browning treated this shot to protect it against corrosion in the wetlands, and paired it up with a wad that stabilizes in flight to put more of its payload into a quacking target. It all adds up to a consistent, easier to aim pattern.
Steel’s reduced density is no problem for this powerful shell. At 1,450 fps its muzzle velocity helps steel reach a distant target with enough energy left over to sink deeply into it. This shell is nicely polished off with a sensitive primer and load of clean burning powder, all expertly packaged in a reloadable hull.
