Why jolt your skeleton with a thunderous 12 Gauge when a 20 Gauge is all you need for hunting quail and other small birds? With a smaller shotgun and this case of hunting ammo by Rio, you’ll be just about the last thing upland game wants to see coming their way.

This shell is loaded with #8 shot – one full ounce instead of 7/8 ounces, because it is intended for upland game and not clay targets. The .09” diameter pellets are also especially effective at making snakes wish they had legs so they could run away from you. This shell’s full ounce of shot is braced by a plastic wad to protect it against deformation and scatter it evenly right out of the barrel, and Rio’s hard lead promotes even greater accuracy still.

This shell’s hull is taxi cab yellow, as all 20 Gauge hulls must be. This is to prevent you from loading a 20 Gauge shell into a 12 Gauge shotgun, forgetting about it, and then subsequently loading a 12 Gauge shell by accident – an error that could very well blow a shotgun to kingdom come. Rio is owned by one of the biggest explosives manufacturers in the world, so their primer and propellant game is always on point.
