#6 Shot

#6 Birdshot is about 2.77 mm or .11" in diameter. Made with lead or steel shot (lead shot has been outlawed in some states).

It is used for hunting pheasant, grouse, partridge, doves, pigeons, and turkey. Choke preferences: Pheasant - Improved Cylinder for close cover and Modified or Full for long shots; Grouse and partridge - Improved Cylinder or Modified for brush and Full for open range; Turkey – Full; Pigeon and doves – either Improved Cylinder or Modified.
