Introduced around 2013, the Nosler Ballistic Tip round is essentially a jacketed hollow point round with a plastic tip inserted in the hollow. This serves a couple purposes; first, it protects the round from becoming deformed in the magazine, thus ensuring a truer, more accurate, flight. Second, the plastic tip is pushed into the lead on impact, making the bullet mushroom faster and, utilizing Nosler’s tapered jacket, with greater control. Paired with the Nosler AccuBond jacketing technique, this round penetrates deeper and makes a large wound channel, making it an excellent hunting round.
