These .224 inch diameter projectiles from Nosler are an excellent solution for rolling your own varmint hunting ammunition as well as just plain, accurate, true-shooting cartridges for matches and benchrest satisfaction! Nosler, an Oregon based company, has been around for nearly 60 years and is known around the world for their top-shelf ammunition and components which have very few competitors in terms of performance.

With decades of expertise and feedback from big name companies (like Federal Premium) who use their components for commercial loads, Nosler has been able to develop their very own custom rifles and calibers for international precision match shooters and safari hunters. This 55 grain bullet will match the trajectory of many common .223 loads for simple zeroing with any optic.

The Nosler Ballistic Tip Varmint projectile is essentially a boat-tail hollow-point (BTHP) which is built to resist drag in flight and provide massive expansion on impact all while exposing zero lead to the shooter and firearm; the increased cleanliness is not just a convenience, but maintains consistent accuracy for subsequent shots. Nosler enhances the 55 grain BTHP design even further by way of their polymer tip which sits atop the hollow-cavity where it meets an ultra-thin jacket mouth.

The polymer tip, which is color-coded orange for .223 Remington and other .22 calibers, helps extend effective range and tighten groups while the thin jacket guarantees explosive expansion (or fragmentation at high velocities) on impact. Your custom rounds loaded with these projectiles will make short work of coyote, javelina, and groundhogs.
