That's a great question Danno! I regret that I can't put that to the test right now, but I believe this strap could hold 357 Mag rounds. The 357 Mag's base diameter is less than 1/10" narrower in diameter than the 30-06, so it's not going to be as snug a fit but it should still hold well. But I'm afraid I can't guarantee good results without having tested it myself.
