Connecticut state laws are somewhat more restrictive than the majority of the states in the United States. In Connecticut, you cannot buy ammo without a handgun carry permit, gun sales permit, or long-gun/handgun eligibility certificate. Ammunition certificates are issued by the state's Commissioner of Emergency Services and Public Protection. Like many other states, armor piercing rounds are illegal. And Connecticut also prohibits the sale and possession of magazines with capacities of more than 10 rounds. Of course, all federal laws also apply in the Constitution State.
