A: Thanks for reaching out Tim! This holster is designed for S&W M&P 9mm or 40 S&W handguns. I don't believe it will fit a Taurus 709 Slim, but I'll reach out to Uncle Mike's and relay their answer to you when I hear back from them.

Q: Will the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield 40 fit? The compact one with 3.2 inch barrel. Or is this for the full size handgun?

A: Hi John! This holster should fit your handgun just fine. The standard S&W M&P Shield 40 has a 3.1" barrel, though even if its barrel was longer this holster's bottolmess design should still accommodate it.
