The Generation 3 PMAG is Magpul's latest revision of their durable polymer magazine design. Like previous editions, this 30 round magazine features constant curve geometry, a long life spring, and a self-lubricating, anti-tilt follower which all contribute to unparalleled reliability during hard use in austere environments. The magazine body uses a new material for increased strength as well as rough texturing and ribs along the front and rear spines for better control and retention during tense, sweaty reloads. In addition, the floorplate is now flared for seamless retrieval from pouches without being so wide as to catch on other magazines in a double-stack carriers.

The new Gen 3 design also includes four 3x5 dot matrices at the bottom of either side which can be easily marked with a paint pen; this allows shooters to number their individual magazines for identification and prevent contamination with others' at classes or matches. Another new upgrade is the over-travel stop built into the rear spine which increases compatibility with a wider range of STANAG compliant 5.56x45mm weapon platforms. Each magazine is U.S. made, far exceeds military specifications, and includes an optional dust cover for storage and transport.
