NOTE: The details and information pertaining to New Jersey ammo laws are meant as a reference point only. As you're likely aware, New Jersey firearm laws change frequently so be sure to consult an attorney or your local law enforcement agency before making any final firearms related decisions.
New Jersey imposes several restrictions on shooters. First, the State regulates the possession of certain bullets. Next, New Jersey mandates that in order to buy handgun ammo you must have a Firearms Purchaser Identification Card, a permit to purchase a handgun, or a carry permit. Also, New Jersey prohibits the sale of magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds. Of course, all federal ammo laws apply in the Garden State.
