New Jersey imposes several restrictions on shooters. First, the State regulates the possession of certain bullets. Next, New Jersey mandates in order to buy handgun ammo you must have a Firearms Purchaser Identification Card, a permit to purchase a handgun, or a carry permit. Also, New Jersey prohibits the sale of magazines with a capacity of more than 15 rounds. Of course, all federal ammo laws also apply in the Garden State.
Lucky Gunner is able to ship ammo to New Jersey, but the process is different for different products. For .223, 5.56, .308, 7.61x51, 7.62x39, .270, .243, 30-30, 30-06, 12 gauge, and 20 gauge ammunition, there is no need for a FOID card because there is no doubt that these products were designed for use in rifles or shotguns and New Jersey provides an exception for these uses.
