Do you want lame sport competition ammunition for skeet, or possibly sporting clays? Of course not. It’s lame. What you actually want is Estate Cartridge’s Super Sport Competition ammo, because it’s super.

This shell is loaded to pretty standard target specifications: 1-1/8 ounces of shot, 1,145 fps muzzle velocity that doesn’t buck the shoulder as hard as most upland loads, and small #9 shot pellets that comprise an extremely thick pattern. Estate advertises this ammo as having “extra hard” shot. They don’t specify the manner in which they harden it, although it’s reasonable to suppose the lead is alloyed with 3 to 3.5% antimony.

Estate Cartridge is not the same company as Federal Premium, the latter of which is far more famous for its shotgun shells. That being said, they are owned by the same company and headquartered in the same place, so it’s reasonable to assume the two are sharing notes.
