It is only fitting that this round’s jacketed hollow point should be shielded as well. Within its nose cavity sits a Hex-Vent: a rigid piece of polymer, which prevents debris from obstructing the cavity, but which also allows the passage of soft tissue into said cavity. The Hex-Vent thereby keeps the JHP fully operational if it must defeat a barrier before it goes on to defeat the threat with wide terminal expansion.
Self-defense ammo must never fail. That is why Winchester loads these rounds with match-grade primers, as well as brass cases that are plated in nickel – a metal which shields against tarnishing, reduces metal-on-metal friction, and is shiny enough to be more easily seen inside a dark chamber.
