The V-Crown is SIG’s finest pistol bullet for self-defense. A jacketed hollow point, it features special V-shaped skives and scores in its jacket to produce more uniform terminal expansion. The V-Crown’s nose cavity also possesses deep cuts which enable it to reliably splay outward, even after relatively low velocity impact. You cannot see the V-Crown’s cannelure while it is seated, but it is there to mechanically anchor the core and jacket together. That promotes higher weight retention, and deeper penetration as the result.

This round’s 200-grain JHP is seated in a nickel-plated brass case. It is still reloadable, but it is additionally corrosion resistant, more reflective for greater visibility in dark environments, and smoother to enhance surer functionality in a semi-automatic firearm.
