Have you ever fired a 2-3/4” 00 buck load and said “Surely, there must be more powerful ammunition than this?” Then you were correct! And you’re looking at it. This shotgun shell’s extra voluminous 3” hull gives quarter to 15 pieces of hard-hitting double-aught, plus the powder that shot needs to take flight at 1,214 fps (~90 fps faster than sonic; 4 dram equivalent). The shot string’s combined striking power can easily exceed that of a 308 Win bullet at close range. Downrange pattern is tighter thanks to Sellier & Bellot’s rigid lead, and the felt wad that fights pellet deformation on ignition.
One thing we can’t say about this ammo is that it has low recoil. You’re going to feel each shot. Your target’s going to feel it a whole lot more, though.
