These 12 gauge shells from Federal's Gold Medal line are perfect for high volume participation in skeet and trap sports as well as for testing shotgun and choke combinations for patterning at various distances. Like early shotshell designs from late 19th century, these rounds use a hull made of wax-impregnated paper which is water resistant and offers shooters a low-cost option that can still be reloaded with proper technique. In addition, these shells are charged to produce a muzzle velocity of 1,235 feet-per-second which fits within the Amateur Trapshooting Association's (ATA's) rules for allowable handicap shells.

The increased velocity helps to deliver the 1-1/8 ounce of #7.5 lead shot to greater distances with less spread; this not only gives a "handicap" advantage to competitors but grants confidence to new shooters who are just starting to smash their first clay pigeons. Federal fits the brass of these shells with their own 209A primers which provides reliable, uniform ignition for consistent burns and ballistics with every shot.
