You wouldn’t throw your trash all over your favorite hunting grounds. Unfortunately, going hunting for dove, quail and grouse means you pretty much have to leave a bunch of hulls and wads lying around – but not anymore. That’s because BioAmmo has taken all the plastic out of their 12 Gauge hunting shells!

This Spanish-made shell’s wad and hull are fully compostable. They are made out of a hard vegetable biopolymer material which bacteria, fungi and algae all love to eat. The shell’s wad and hull will eventually get broken down into environmentally-friendly carbon dioxide, salt and water. (This process will take approximately two years, so you may still want to collect your spent hulls.) Even these shells’ metal heads will gradually oxidize until they become dust, thus eliminating all litter.

This shell’s conventional components are also high-quality. BioAmmo loads premium #7.5 lead shot that patterns very nicely thanks to its hinged wad, which flares petals outward following ignition to ensure a denser spread. BioAmmo’s non-corrosive primers and low residue powder ensure reliable supersonic muzzle velocities.

BioAmmo shotshells can be stored in normal conditions for at least five years.
