And here’s just the 12 Gauge ammo to do it with: Winchester Super Target! It’s loaded with 350 pieces of #7.5 shot – a size widely preferred for several clay-shooting disciplines. It’s also mild recoiling. Between its lightweight 1-ounce payload and dialed down 1,150 fps muzzle velocity, this is one shell that just doesn’t know how to kick hard. Its hinged wad, which flattens down as it soaks in recoil energy, does even more to reduce the “jolt of ignish.”
Its lighter load and slower MV do place this shell’s dram equivalent at 2-1/2, mind you. That’s no issue as far as most shotguns go, though it may not be peppy enough to operate a semi-auto the way it likes to be operated.
